The Room

  • Find a quiet room where you won’t be disturbed.

  • Use a chair with a firm back that doesn’t swivel. No wheels or armrests.

  • Children under 12 should use a stool that doesn’t swivel and has no armrests or backrest.

  • Use a laptop with a built-in webcam and an internet connection.

  • Keep the laptop plugged into a power outlet.

  • QbCheck works best on the latest versions of Chrome, Safari or Microsoft Edge.

  • QbCheck won’t run on smartphones, or tablets.

Your Computer

Children Under 18

  • Children under 18 should have an adult present during the test.

QbCheck helps identify ADHD early by measuring core symptoms like hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention.

Your results are compared to others of the same age and sex, both with and without ADHD. This helps your provider understand your symptoms and, where applicable, how you respond to ADHD treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the test take?

The test itself takes 15 or 20 minutes but additional time should be allowed for the setup. Make sure to set aside at least 30 minutes to complete it.

Where can I take the test?

Make sure to find a quiet room where you won't be disturbed for the entire test duration. Ask anyone nearby to keep the noise down.

I didn’t sleep well, can I take the test?

Make sure you're well-rested and feel calm before taking the test. If you often have trouble sleeping, talk to your provider to find the best time for your test.

How will my provider use the results?

Your provider will use the QbCheck results along with your medical history and other information gathered about your symptoms. Together, these results help assess and, where applicable, treat ADHD. QbCheck is just one part of the overall process.

When will I get my results?

Once you’ve finished the test your results will be instantly uploaded and shared with your provider. They will get in touch to discuss the results and arrange a follow-up, if needed.

I don't think I did well on my test – should I worry?

The test is meant to be challenging, so don’t worry if you feel like you didn’t do well – there’s no ‘pass or fail’. The test measures how well you focus, control impulses, and your activity level. It doesn’t rely on skills like language, reading, or math.

I couldn’t finish my test because of an interruption or technical issue – what should I do?

When interrupted, you can restart the test at a (more) appropriate time and when further interruption can be avoided. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from performing the test, please contact your provider, so they can assist you.
